The Office of Strategic
Communication (OSC) is responsible for leading and managing the
university's marketing, public relations and media relations
activities to advance the university's mission, core values, and
strategic directions. The OSC is challenged to develop a top-flight
external relations and internal communications program targeting
the institution's diverse constituencies and to develop successful
marketing and public relations efforts that enhance the image and
visibility of California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB).
By promoting the strengths and accomplishments of CSUSB to
regional, national and international audiences the OSC plays a
critical role in advancing the University and cementing CSUSB's
reputation as a preeminent center of intellectual and cultural
activity in Inland Southern California.

Under the general supervision of the
Associate Vice President in the Office of Strategic Communication
with clear responsiveness to the University President, the
Advancement Writer will assist with the preparation of speeches,
talking points, remarks, reports, presentations, statements,
articles, daily correspondence and other written material on behalf
of the President and other senior leadership in connection with
speaking engagements or other activities. This process will include
research, writing, editing, and consultation with a wide range of
offices and individuals both inside and outside the University. In
addition to the responsibilities above, the Advancement Writer will
assist others in the Office of Strategic Communication and
University Advancement with public relations activities designed to
extend the impact of and knowledge about the University to an
ever-increasing number stakeholder groups and target audiences,
both on and off campus.
Typical activities include but are not limited to:

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in communications, journalism
or related field.
A minimum of 3-5 years related experience in speech writing,
professional writing and technical writing.
- Master's degree is preferred.
