Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia is seeking qualified
candidates for the position of Director of Alumnae/i Events.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Alumnae/i Engagement
and Strategic Initiatives, the Director of Alumnae/i Events is a
member of the Alumnae/i Relations team, and is responsible for the
management of Hollins’ alumnae/i engagement efforts designed to
cultivate more purposeful, meaningful, and impactful relations with
its alumnae/i. This position oversees the process of strengthening
Hollins’ alumnae/i special events programs including reunion, the
Career Connection Conference (C3), a robust virtual event series,
and other local and regional events. The director works
collaboratively with their teammates and alumnae/i volunteers on
the design, implementation, and management of alumnae/i programs
consistent with the university’s strategic mission. Additionally,
this position supervises 2-4 student workers during the academic
year and 12-18 student workers during reunion (March – June).
Successful applicants must have a bachelor’s degree; minimum of
three (3) years of event planning experience; minimum of two (2)
years of supervisory and/or volunteer management experience;
well-developed communication, presentation, and interpersonal
skills; excellent detail, accuracy, organizational, and project
management skills; and Microsoft Office proficiency. Candidates
must have abilities to maintain extensive and sustained work with
internal and external constituencies; meet deadlines and goals; be
proactive, work independently and collaboratively, and exercise
sound judgement; and manage confidential and sensitive matters.

ground and air and to work nights and weekends as needed. Preferred
applicants will have experience in higher education, as well as
with Ellucian Banner and Anthology/iModules Encompass. Final
