Position Summary 

The HR Assistant supports the recruiting, onboarding and file management functions of HR Office.  This position works collaboratively with all HR staff members and other campus departments to support the hiring process, communicate directly with new hires through the initial onboarding process, input data, maintain electronic files and provide data migration support with a new HRIS implementation from Banner to Work Day.  The position is required to provide professional communication and maintain confidentiality in all aspects of work.  

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Minimum of 1-year professional experience within human resources or similar office management setting   
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite  
  • Excellent professionalism and communication skills  

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • College degree in a related field such as Human Resources, Business, Education, or Accounting  
  • HR experience in higher education  
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365  
  • Experience with the State of Colorado Personnel System  
  • Experience with Ellucian and related programs such as Banner, Application Manager, Argos Reports, and Perceptive Content  
  • Benefits and compensation management systems  

Major Responsibilities 

  • Provide the highest level of customer service and professionalism in all internal and external interactions, directing inquiries or requests appropriately, and managing all front office responsibilities  
  • Work collaboratively with HR staff to process initial recruiting requests and coordinate HR needs with other offices on campus hiring  
  • Maintain search SharePoint sites and provides consistent communication with the recruiting process  
  • Process, verify, and maintain onboarding employee personnel files  
  • Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 and compliance processing benefit paperwork  
  • Process data entry for dates of employment, deductions, job details and dates of job changes  
  • Supports the onboarding process, initiate background checks, and all other tasks related to the initial employment screening and onboarding  
  • Communicate onboarding paperwork deadlines and provide follow up to meet payroll deadlines  
  • Maintains electronic personnel files and data migration from physical to electronic files  
  • Coordinate off-boarding procedures  
  • Compile and prepare reports and documents as requested  
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and employment laws  
  • Maintain basic knowledge of HR trends, best practices, and regulatory changes  
  • Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success as well as working with diverse communities  
  • Maintains knowledge and awareness of digital accessibility including the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 508  
  • Produces and remediates digitally accessible materials in accordance with FLC standards  
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Compensation  

Hourly range for this position is $19.23 to $20.67 per hour, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
