Position Summary:

The Clinical Trials Navigator Manager will be responsible for development and expansion of the Clinical Trials Patient Navigation program at the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC). The team is responsible for clinical trials navigation, outreach and education for the UWCCC. The primary responsibility of the team is finding cancer clinical trial options for patients and helping patients to understand clinical trials. The Manager will oversee the work of Clinical Trials Navigators as well as perform navigation services directly. The team will work directly with patients and their families & caregivers, UWH and referring providers, clinic staff, UWH Cancer Connect, and UWCCC clinical trials staff. The position will oversee outreach and education related to clinical trials directed toward a variety of audiences, including the public. Strong management, strategic planning, coordination, communication, organizational, and customer service skills are required in order to work effectively in the role. The incumbent will become familiar with and maintain knowledge of operations, procedures and policies related to UWCCC clinical trials, UWCCC/UWH Oncology clinics, and related services.

This position has the potential be covered under a long term telecommuting agreement for someone to work full time remotely.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

RN required; Associate's degree required, BS in Nursing strongly preferred

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

- Seven years' experience in oncology nursing required
- Three years' experience in oncology clinical research required
- Prior experience with clinical trials patient navigation required; 3 or more years strongly preferred
- Experience with management and supervision of staff preferred
- Experience with patient education, community outreach, and creating/marketing health education materials preferred

- A minimum of seven years of experience is required for appointment at the senior level.

License or Certificate:

Licensure as a Registered Nurse is required.

TB testing and a Caregiver Background Check will be required at the time of employment. This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial Caregiver Check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and then every four years.

The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring eligibility for employment in the United States on or before the effective date of the appointment.
