Job Summary:

The History Department is looking for qualified part-time faculty for courses for the upcoming Fall 2021 semester. We have immediate teaching opportunities in the following areas (the courses are capped at 30 students for each course).

Themes in Modern History (Themes in Western Civilization) (Tue/Fri. 8:00-9:15 & W 2-3:35; F 3:30-4:45)

Empire State History (Tue/Fri 8:00-9:15)

America Since 1945 (Multiple Sections)

In addition, the History Department has ongoing teaching needs in the following courses: Themes in Modern History, American history survey courses, and regional history courses in Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in history of closely related field, Doctorate or ABD preferred. Previous successful collegiate teaching experience required.

Essential Functions:

Successful candidates may teach three to nine credits hours and assist students as needed. Teaching may occur in the fall or spring semesters.

The History Department includes 10 faculty members and offers a BA in history as well as a BA in history with a public history concentration. The History Department is housed in the School of Liberal Arts with other departments such as English, Modern Languages, Philosophy & Religious Studies and Political Science.
