Administer and manage a financial literacy program that is fully integrated into the student’s academic and co-curricular experience while providing tools for scholarship searches and student loan repayment options. This includes managing the program budget, Training and supervising peer coaches, scheduling and presenting programs, and overseeing the Money Awareness Program ( MAP ) Grant program. Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • One (1) plus years of financial aid counseling/financial literacy experience preferred.
  • Experience in public speaking, creating presentations, social media, and excellent written communication skills required.

Job Specific Qualifications
  • In depth knowledge of financial literacy programs, Accredited Financial Counselor® credential at time of hiring or within 1 year.
  • WordPress, Microsoft office suite applications, social media, federal and state financial aid regulations, supervisory skills preferred, excellent communication skills, public speaking, attention to detail and ability to analyze data for program evaluations on a variety of levels.
  • Direct the current and future programs of the Office of Financial Literacy, a division of Financial Aid and Scholarship Programs.
  • Direct the following programs: Money Awareness Program, Coach Development Program, Peer Financial Coach Program, Co-Director of Foundations (six-week life skill workshop series for undergrad students in the fall)
  • Strategically plan annual initiatives using customized tools.
  • Identify metrics to gauge success in programs, records results, and prepare annual reports.
  • Continuously innovate to advance mission of the Office of Financial Literacy.
  • Research and solicit funding opportunities for office activities/expenses.
  • Program manager of the Money Awareness Program: Select eligible program participants, award up to $500,000 in grant funding annually, develop and deliver all communications,
  • Develop and deliver the continuing education requirement of one-on-one financial coaching for all MAP program participants as well as all Phanstiel Scholars.
  • Hire, train, and manage a staff of student administrators.
  • Train assistants in accordance with the student-employee handbook.
  • Hire, train, coordinate, and continuously educate a peer financial coaching staff of up to 15 coaches.
  • Coordinate all staff scheduling in the Office of Financial Literacy.
  • Conduct periodic performance reviews with coaches and administrative students, and enforce disciplinary measures when needed.
  • Create and maintain the Office of Financial Literacy operations calendar, a system by which all students request coaching appointments. | ¿ Obtain AFC® credential to act in the capacity of Accredited Financial Counselor® in teaching, counseling, and counselor-staff management duties.
  • Act as liaison between the university and third-party financial wellness education vendors, including USAFunds and SALT and others.
  • Coordinate and communicate a digital learning curriculum for students based on strategic plan.
  • Conduct one-on-one financial counseling sessions.
  • Conduct student loan exit counseling sessions for students leaving the University.
  • Design curriculum and syllabus for PAF -410 (three-credit upper level Arts & Sciences course training peer financial coaches in personal finance and coaching technique every fall semester).
  • Practitioner expert and instructor for PAF -410 and the Coach Development Program.
  • Strong public speaking skills required – conduct group workshops and presentations on various personal finance topics across campus.
  • Coordinate with all schools and colleges to schedule speaking engagements for coaching staff.
  • Market and network across campus to all schools, colleges, administrative support units, and student organizations to coordinate programming and increase awareness of financial wellness efforts.
  • Design, build, manage, and update the Office of Financial Literacy website using WordPress.
  • Act as face and voice of the university in the role of liaison to local and national media outlets.
  • Write, schedule, and perform social media outreach using platforms such as Twitter.
  • Curate and update the Office of Financial Literacy’s Social Media Policy in accordance with university standards.
  • Write content for and manage the Office of Financial Literacy Twitter account @SUFinLit
  • Coordinate communications timeline and oversee execution.
  • Write outgoing communications.
  • Design marketing publications working with the publications office, in accordance with university branding guidelines.
  • Conduct data analysis to feed inputs for the annual Financial Literacy Report Card.
  • Conduct annual Money Awareness Program analysis to assess efficacy.
  • Stay at the cutting-edge of financial wellness education, industry best practices, financial aid regulations & policies, and news relating to financial wellness efforts both nationally and locally.
  • Stay aware of latest social media trends and update the social media policy
