UW Bothell has an outstanding opportunity for a Talent Acquisition Partner in OE/HR .

Organizational Excellence and Human Resources (OE/HR), a unit within Planning and Administration, is committed to building, supporting and retaining a community of faculty, staff and student employees who are highly engaged and diverse. As a member of the OE/HR team, the Talent Acquisition Partner works in a highly collaborative manner with hiring managers to understand the managers' objectives and staffing needs. This position develops and executes customized sourcing and recruiting strategies, generating pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future professional and classified staff positions, as well as handles the full life cycle of the recruitment process and works closely with hiring managers in creating skilled and diverse candidate pools. Strengthening outreach, recruitment and hiring practices that focus on diversifying applicant pools and ultimately the staff population is key to this position. The Talent Acquisition Partner also acts as UW Bothell’s representative at diversity job fairs, social media, and external networking events, marketing UW Bothell as an employer of choice to job seekers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Recruitment:

• As a member of the OE/HR team, the Talent Acquisition Partner will work closely with the OE/HR team to provide seamless service to UW Bothell units.
• Proactively source active and passive candidates though creative and strategic methods including but not limited to employee referrals, networking, networking events, and advanced search tools to ensure all recruitments are seeded with highly qualified, diverse candidates.
• Conduct intake meetings with hiring manager/s to discuss the position, the ideal candidate, advertising venues and diverse recruitment strategies and processes for the search. Advise hiring managers about process best practices.
• Develop appropriate screening criteria and assess resumes and applications, to pre-screen for hiring managers.
• Partner with campus leadership, including the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Diversity Equity and Inclusion, to ensure equitable hiring practices and review of hiring pool diversity. Integrate UW's new Staff Diversity Hiring Tool Kit with our current diversity hiring practices.
• Develop and execute tactical sourcing strategies aimed at generating candidate flow to meet overall recruiting goals.
• Proactively work to build a skilled and diverse candidate pool for each search.
• Utilize contemporary recruiting and sourcing tools such as job boards, social media, resume databases and search engines to identify active and passive candidates. Keep up-to-date on current social media hiring practices.
• Generate and maintain a pipeline (talent pool) of qualified candidates (especially for hard to fill positions; and for advisor positions) organized by skill set for current and future opportunities. Match qualified candidates with hiring managers throughout UW Bothell campus, including both permanent and temporary vacancies. Conduct informational interviews with inquiring candidates.
• Provides training or partner with UW Diversity Recruiter to provide training to hiring managers and search committee members on implicit bias and other strategies regarding diversity and inclusion, including inclusion advocacy.
• Conduct or oversee the conducting of initial phone screens to assess candidate skills, experience, salary requirements, availability and interest.
• Interview candidates and all finalist candidates as selected.
• Develop metrics regarding interview questions, informing hiring committees on best practices regarding what to watch for while interviewing candidates. Help hiring committees learn the difference between great, good, and fair answers to questions.
• Use a rubric to evaluate interview questions and identify competencies.
• Provide verbal or written feedback regarding candidates to hiring managers and other stakeholders.
• Conduct or oversee the conducting of reference checks.
• Initiate the background check process.
• Ensure that all recruiting processes are documented, consistent and efficient.
• Conduct regular follow-up meetings with hiring managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.
• Participates in recruitment events and represents UW Bothell within the community.
• Ensure that all successful candidates are properly on-boarded.

Business Partner Collaboration:

• Work with OE/HR Business Partners and hiring managers to understand client departments' objectives and anticipates staffing needs.
• Assist with the faculty search and hiring process.
• Conduct exit interviews with staff departing UW Bothell.
• Utilizing Gallup assessment tool, evaluate candidate experience and continue to improve.
• Take over the campus temp hire program to free up HR Partners to do other work.

Onboarding/Orientation:

• In collaboration with OE/HR Director, focus on continuing to build UW Bothell's new virtual Onboarding program for staff. Help create both virtual events and improve current resources.
• Present various portions of the New Staff Orientation virtual program.
• Meet with new staff on their first day to discuss resources and information they will need to know right away (before they attend Onboarding virtual programs).
• Virtual faculty orientation (currently only offered fall quarter each year) must be offered quarterly. Work with a team to create a virtual program for winter and spring quarter hires.
• Create faculty onboarding resources, checklist, and website.

Policies, Procedures and Administration:

• Manage and maintain recruitment and placement metrics and tracking systems.
• Evaluate organizational practices in compliance with laws, rules and policies. Develop personnel recommendations in compliance with regulatory requirements while meeting UW Bothell operational needs.
• Interpret, analyze and disseminate rules, procedures, and policies; identify needs for policy or procedure development and clarification; write guidelines, procedures and policies as necessary.
• Prepare appropriate HR documents as needed.
• Participate and assist in the development of metrics.

Other Duties:

• Oversee the recruiting assistance provided by the HR Assistant Senior such as scheduling interviews, conduct phone screen and reference checks.
• Identify and assist in the implementation of continuous process improvements.
• Manage special projects as required by the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Organizational Excellence and Human Resources.
• Special projects as assigned, such as faculty position advertising analytics for Vice Chancellor. Contract negotiations for best advertising rates.
• Supervise student intern (when applicable) and develop the HR student intern program agenda.
• Perform other related duties as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
At least two years of experience in human resources profession and/or recruiting.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
