Description
The Department of Special Education has part-time adjunct instructors positions available for Spring and Fall semesters. Instructors are needed to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in Special Education (e.g., mild, severe, deaf/hard of hearing, etc.), Applied Behavior Analysis, and Autism. Both on campus and online courses are available.
Please note that applications will remain active until November 19, 2021. Therefore, if you apply for this position, you may not hear from the Department of Special Education until there is a need to hire an instructor to teach a specific course.
Minimum Qualifications
Adjuncts teaching undergraduate courses in special education have a masters degree in special education or closely related field from an accredited institution.
Adjuncts teaching graduate level courses must have a doctoral degree in special education or closely related field from an accredited institution.
Adjuncts teaching graduate level courses in ABA or autism must have at least a doctoral degree in ABA, psychology, education, special education, or closely related field from an accredited institution. In addition, the instructor must be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst ( BCBA ).
Adjuncts teaching undergraduate ABA /Autism courses must have at least a masters degree in ABA, psychology, education, special education, or closely related field from an accredited institution and be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst ( BCBA ).
Adjunct faculty interested in teaching masters level research methods courses must have at least a doctoral degree in special education, education, psychology, or closely related field from an accredited institution.
Authorization to work in the US
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications for special education courses is at least two years of teaching experience in schools working directly with students with disabilities.
Preferred qualification for ABA courses is at least two years of experience employed as a BCBA .
Required Certifications/Licensures
Adjuncts teaching undergraduate or graduate level ABA courses must be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
