Position Primary Purpose and General Responsibilities
Reporting to the Communications Specialist, the Communications Coordinator supports the daily communications operational activities of the Office of Admissions. Duties include processing outgoing recruitment and enrollment mailings, maintaining publication inventory, and tracking mailing production schedules. In addition, this position provides logistical support for on-campus and off-campus activities for the recruitment of new students to the university, including delivery, set-up and breakdown of event signage, equipment and other required materials. This position will also manage and maintain publication inventories used for recruitment, track publication usage and mailing costs, and oversee all out-going mail processes, as well as oversee and monitor data entry of prospective students into the Slate Customer Relationship Management ( CRM ) system as needed. Minimum Hiring Standards
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to work productively in highly collaborative environments that maximize autonomy and decision-making.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access).
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external audiences.
- Excellent written and oral communication and documentation skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU .
- Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, humanities, sciences, or related field.
- Proven record of successfully managing projects, working independently and meeting deadlines, preferred.
- Experience with or exposure to CRM programs.
