Job Description:

The Supervisor, TRiO-Student Support Services/Veteran Student Support Services Tutoring Services will coordinate all tutoring services, including but not limited to, hiring, training, managing, and coaching/mentoring all tutors; order and maintain materials, supplies, and equipment necessary for current and up-to-date tutoring nest practices, within budgetary constraints and director approval; maintains materials, supplies, and equipment inventories; collect and evaluate data related to schedules, participation, services, best practices, and other topics as needed; prepare reports as needed; use evaluated data to recommend and implement changes to improve tutoring services; maintain a Tutoring Services Policies and Procedures manual; and collaborate with Pensacola State College’s other tutoring labs/services. Provides counseling, guidance and technical instruction to students regarding methods and techniques for improving skills; participates in curriculum development; maintenance of records, and the preparation of a variety of reports and analyses as required. This position reports to the Director, Veterans Student Support Services.

Grant Funded Position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree is required. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.

Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited institution with a master's degree. Preference will be given to military veterans with experience providing supportive services to military populations and to well qualified individuals with a background similar to the targeted population.

SALARY: $34,440.60
