Graduate Career Coordinator
Position Category: Staff - Full-Time
Summary:
Identifies and cultivates relationships with local as well as regional and national organizations that have potential to hire Woodbury MBA students for internship and full-time employment opportunities. (Assists with new student recruitment during these visits with businesses.) Meet with MBA students and alumni (as well as undergraduates as time permits) to assess and affect career readiness through coaching, advising and training for effective job search activities, including interviews, site visits, networking events, job fairs, corporate information sessions and other off- and on-campus recruitment activities. Provide career development subject matter expertise for targeted MBA student population. Plan and implement targeted career development events. Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in a directly related field of study or a combination of education and experience totaling four years.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge:
Education/training in a business discipline. Knowledge of hiring trends, practices for designated sector/industry/job function. Knowledge of social networking tools. Strong business acumen.
Skills:
Skill in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint as well as Internet and email communication systems. Interpersonal and verbal communications skills. Organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects. Coaching skills and the understanding of diverse cultural backgrounds.
Abilities:
Ability to develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Ability to assess and analyze a situation and determine an appropriate course of action to lead to desired results. Ability to serve on the MBA team to effectively identify strategy and goals. Self-starter with ability to work independently yet also work collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to use and discuss business terminology from multiple sectors.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree. Minimum of 5 years of professional experience including time working in a corporate or other business role that included recruiting, training, and/or hiring responsibilities.
Physical Requirements:
Work is performed in a normal office environment.
