The Senior Database Administrator provides superior technical
leadership and is the lead database administrator in the oversight
of the complex database administration assignments that are
essential to the production and development of database management
systems (DBMS) applications. Maximizes the reliability,
availability, security, and performance of production database
management systems. Organizes, installs, and maintains the
enterprise database software and multiple applications and database
environments to include hardware and network and interface
implications. The Senior Database Administrator designs
state-of-the-art technological methods to migrate, implement,
store, and analyze data while ensuring connectivity and
compatibility between new and existing database management systems.
Forecasts the University’s future technological needs and direction
and optimizes its capacity and performance. Exercises
considerable independent judgment.
· Works closely
with administrators and the technical staff to schedule changes and
upgrades, and ensure connectivity and compatibility between
standards and guidelines for use in acquiring software and
protecting vulnerable material.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or
