Postdoctoral Fellow Position in Perinatal Exercise and Epigenetics

The laboratory of Dr. Junseok Son in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at University of Maryland School of Medicine is seeking a postdoctoral research fellow to investigate molecular mechanisms in response to exercise during pregnancy using transgenic mouse models.

The research will focus on:

1) Uncovering the molecular mechanisms underlying maternal impacts on placental development and function, focusing on hypoxia and placenta-induced hormones

2) Exploring epigenetic regulation of fetal brown fat and muscle development due to maternal exercise during pregnancy

3) Testing our novel discoveries for developing therapeutic intervention of pregnant women

Qualifications :

Applicants should possess the Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and experience in molecular biology and biochemical research approaches and a strong work ethic. Experience with bioinformatics is preferred, but not required.
