Lone Star College-System Office employees are based at one of two System Office locations; The Woodlands and University Park. Both are the site for multiple administrative departments and system-wide training programs.

Job Description


The individual in this role will supervise and evaluate Business Analysts in report preparation and data analysis.


  1. Supervise Senior Business Analysts
  2. Build SQL Routines
  3. Use PeopleSoft Query Manager to retrieve data from Oracle database
  4. Create, export and filter data using the PeopleSoft Query tool
  5. Act as the primary liaison between the Financial Aid Department and Office of Technical Support, work closely with appropriate OTS programmers, cooperate with the OTS department, partner with other cross-departmental and cross-divisional functional staff on initiatives for system and data integration and upgrades
  6. Provide product support of tested PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Financial Aid modules; test releases of bundle updates
  7. Create and test queries and reports
  8. Present data findings to Lone Star management
  9. Maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and institutional regulations and guidelines that may impact financial aid processing
  10. Assist Business Analysts to investigate, implement and document new business process flows for functionality in compliance with federal and state regulations, institutional policies and departmental standard operating procedures
  11. Serve on appropriate committees and work teams for PeopleSoft implementation and data integrity issues
  12. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned


  • Strong computer literacy and database management skills
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Knowledge of student information systems, customer relations management systems and databases (e.g. People Soft); NSLDS, EDconnect and COD
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
  • Ability to work in accordance with policies, procedures, and federal and state regulations
  • Excellent time management, multitasking and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, or as part of a team, in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to utilize multiple platforms for data extraction and report generation
  • Ability to communicate with both technical and functional users during system updates


The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.


  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards


  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of related work experience, with at least 3 years in a Manager- or Director-level position
  • Must be in, and maintain, good standing with the Department of Education for continued employment


Hiring salary range is $74,380 - $85,537

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education.
