Who We Are

The University of Colorado Boulder offers the following degree programs: BA in Dance; BA in Theatre; BFA in Dance; BFA in performance/Musical Theatre/ Design/Tech/Management; MFA in Dance’; and MFA and Ph.D. in Theatre & Performance Studies. Department boast 22 full time faculty and a staff of 8. There are approximately 250 undergraduate theatre and dance students and 35 graduate students. The Colorado Shakespeare Festival is in residence at CU-Boulder and produces 5 productions annually.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Responsible for calendar and space scheduling for all Theatre productions in coordination with dance in a 9 month academic season utilizing THDN performance venues as well as instituting all safety procedures and protocols. Serve as assistant building proctor. As a member of Theatre BFA Design/Tech/Management Faculty, serve as mentor of student stage management cohort. As part of the teaching load, manage and mentor all run-crew practicum students for Theatre and support students in Dance in collaboration with the Director of Dance.

Production. Coordinate all BFA DTM student assignments. Other teaching opportunities are possible in areas of interest including audio design.

Coordination duties include:
  • All aspects of auditions for Theatre production season
  • All outside prop rentals
  • Off-campus storage operations
  • House management
  • All shared facilities and production


What You Should Know
  • This is a 1 year interim position. 9 months at 100% and an additional summer for 66% time.
  • This position consist of both a 9-month academic year appointment plus a separate 3-month summer appointment.


What We Can Offer

$54-55k for 100% 9-month and additional $13,960 for summer 66% time.

What We Require
  • MFA or equivalent professional experience.


What You Will Need
  • Professional Production experience.
  • Production experience in theatre and associated live performing arts events.
  • Demonstrated organizational, scheduling, and composed communication in fast pace environment.
  • A commitment to the positive collaborative work environment and the development of students with grace under pressure.


What We Would Like You To Have
  • Experience in stage management.
  • Previous budgeting experience.
  • Knowledge in lighting design, audio and/or projection systems.
