Assistant Professor in Comparative Human Development

The Department of Comparative Human Development at the University of Chicago invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor. We seek a sociologist working in one or more of the following areas: aging and life-course; migration; culture; gender and sexuality; religion; youth; health and medicine; race and ethnicity; or areas that complement the current strengths of the faculty.  We are especially interested in scholars who deal with these topics from a life course perspective.

The Department of Comparative Human Development at the University of Chicago is an interdisciplinary department founded in 1940 whose faculty includes anthropologists, biologists, linguists, psychologists, sociologists, and methodologists whose theories and methods cross individual social sciences. Research in the department explores the social, cultural, psychological, and biological processes of change that vary across time, between individuals, between societies and cultures, and between species.
