Purpose of Position
To advance student success through the university’s strategic
framework, this role within the Office of the University Registrar
maintains the accuracy of student records with primary focus on the
review, evaluation, and data entry of external transcripts into the
equivalent courses and credits at NKU . The evaluation of
coursework happens for both general education and 100-200 level
major and minor course requirements at NKU .
The position includes:
• Analysis of external transcripted course work, per the correct
policies and procedures, to quickly and effeciently translate the
course work into the NKU equivalencies. This is currently a mnual
process, loading line-by-line in the SLCM (student information
system) portion of SAP
• Maintenance of the course equivalency tables contained in SAP,
via ongoing evaluation of general educaiton courses and other
college level transfer course evaluations. This may involve
consultation with the academic departments at NKU .
• Prepares transfer credit approval report and placement statuses
and corresponds with students via mailings, emails, phone, and
• Maintains knowledge of pertinent software and of related
resources and governing policies; participates in testing for
annual SAP upgrades

The Processing Specialist will provide quality service to the
students, faculty, administration, and general public who contact
the Office of the University Registrar via telephone, email or
mail, or in person. The position requires a thorough understanding
and knowledge in the areas of university policies and general
information, registration, academic records and course information.
In addition, this position requires an understanding of all other
processes performed in the office in order to provide quality
High School Diploma plus one year related experience
Excellent computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft
Office Suites and SAP . Interpersonal communication skills,
excellent use of English grammar and math skills. The ability to
analyze processes in order to improve efficiency.
