Hours: Part-time/Temporary; days, nights, overnights. Up to 15 hours a week

The events/lodging assistant is a responsible staff member that will help to support Alumni Engagement and the Parks Alumni House with its lodging, events, inventory and social media needs.

Major Responsibilities
Major responsibilities at the Lynne Parks ’68 Alumni House:
  • Assist with event set-ups and tear downs
  • Assist with events: meeting with guest, serving, bussing tables and tearing down set-ups
  • Assist house on occasion with potential overnights, staying overnight covering our overnight duties
  • Updating inventory of the house, keeping track of incoming inventory and placement of inventory
  • Assisting with social media for the house
  • Major responsibilities at the Alumni Engagement office:
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of events.
  • Assist with events: set up, checking guests in, troubleshooting issues and event clean up
  • Assist with alumni cultivation and stewardship-Assist with marketing projects and social media

Functional and Supervisory Relationships
Reports directly to the Associate Director of Alumni Engagement & The General Manager of the Lynne Parks ’68 SUNY Cortland Alumni House.

Works closely with numerous constituents on campus, students, and alumni.

Works closely with all members of Institutional Advancement

Required Qualifications
Associate’s degree

Availability to work nights and weekends

Events / Hospitality experience

Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated professional experience in higher education
Alumni engagement experience
Experience with diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives or programming to promote a feeling of welcome for all alumni constituents
At least one year’s experience in a customer services environment
Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies
Demonstrated marketing experience EEO Statement
