Primary Function

This individual will manage all operations of the facility through phases of events, pre-event, event, and post-event, including staff supervision and training. This individual will direct and assist changeover staff, technical staff, as well as, assist in the event coordination. Responsibilities include directing, supervising and performing the work involved in the conversion of the Athletic Facilities for a large variety of events. This positions will directly manage the full-time Assembly Hall Physical Facility Supervisors and Part time staff.
Duties and Responsibilities (generally)

This position reports to the Director for the Convocation Center. This individual will directly manage the operations of the athletic facilities and have oversight of full and part time operation staff.

This position requires accuracy, attention to detail, and consistent follow-through. The individual in this position must possess leadership and supervisory skills and be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Knowledge of and ability to train staff in electrical systems, sound system operation and maintenance procedures, theatrical lighting system operation and maintenance procedures, terminology and principles pertinent to electric, electronic, sound, and light equipment is essential. In addition, this individual must have knowledge of staging, rigging safety, illumination, and properties; familiarity with equipment and materials pertaining thereto as well as be able to operate and maintain sound and lighting equipment appropriate to professional presentation of live-theater productions, addresses, concerts, sporting events, and similar programs. This person must have the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Minimum Required Qualifications for this position

1.possession of credential requirements for the Assistant Auditorium Technical Director
2.one year of work experience in a position equivalent to the assistant Auditorium Technical Director, as defined in this series, including the supervision of stage crew and technicians

Physical Demands

The individual must have the physical strength to assist in arena set-ups and tear downs, as well as be able to climb up and down stairs and ladders. The employee will regularly move/ lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally move/ lift up to 100 pounds, and will be exposed to loud conditions, and moving parts.
