Position Summary:
Monmouth University is seeking applications for a temporary Research Assistant in the Urban Coast Institute department.

The candidate would be expected to: sort and process zooplankton samples for Barnegat Bay Project; maintain project databases; write quarterly reports for the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP); assist on field sampling and survey projects.

Required Degree, License or Certifications:
Bachelor's degree, Valid Automobile Driver's License in your state of principal residence

Required Skills or Software:
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills

Required Years of Experience:

Other Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology or a related field. Knowledge of processing and sampling zooplankton.

Ability to climb ladders to 5 ft. Ability to lift and carry objects up to 40 lbs.

Comfortable working on water. Basic boating skills. Computer experience using Excel and Access.

Reliable and able to work with others as part of a team.

Ability to work outside in all types of weather.


Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with the Barnegat Bay in New Jersey.
