Job Details

The University of Washington Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine is seeking a full-time academic orthopaedic surgeon with a focus in musculoskeletal tumor surgery as well as total joint arthroplasty. The ideal candidate will have completed fellowships in both orthopaedic oncology and total joint replacement. Clinical responsibilities include surgical management of primary and metastatic tumors of bone, soft tissue sarcoma surgery, prosthetic and allograft joint and limb reconstructions. An interest in complex total joint replacement surgery of the hip and the knee is required along with a commitment to excellence in patient care and teaching. Candidates will be expected to establish a clinical or basic science research program and a demonstrated record of academic achievement is desirable. This position will be based at the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC), the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, and the Veterans Affairs Puget Sound Health Care System (VAPSHCS). Appointment will be at the Assistant Professor level (without tenure due to funding). This position is on a 12-month service period (July 1 – June 30) with a start date in the fall of 2021. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. 

Qualifications

Applicants must be a citizen of the United States, have an MD or DO degree, be board certified (or board eligible) in orthopaedic surgery and completed a fellowship in musculoskeletal tumor surgery. Candidates must also be able to obtain a full Washington State Medical License.
