Vice President for Academic Affairs

Newman University invites inquiries, applications, and nominations for Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA). Based in the vibrant city of Wichita, Kansas, Newman is home to a diverse group of approximately 3,100 undergraduate and graduate students in a wide array of disciplines and degree levels. The legacy of its founders, the Adorers of the Blood of Christ (ASC), informs every facet of this private, Catholic university.

The Vice President for Academic Affairs is the Chief Academic Officer of the University, a member of the President's Cabinet, and represents the President during his or her absence from Newman's main campus. The VPAA administers all academic programs involving instruction, research/scholarly/creative work, and extension. The VPAA is responsible for advising the President on matters relating to overall planning, allocation of resources, and the development and evaluation of academic programs. It is anticipated that the next VPAA will understand the role of higher education academic administration in a rapidly changing environment. It is expected that the next VPAA appreciate and support the values, mission, religious affiliation, and history of Newman University. The appointee is expected to take office by January 3, 2022.
