This position administers all of PIJIP’s academic programs, including our LLM and certificate programs, Summer Program, academic events, communications, student advising, and alumni networking. The position serves as the primary liaison to the offices of Graduate Admissions, Career and Professional Development,Special Events and Continuing Legal Education, Marketing, Finance, Student Affairs, the Registrar, and other academic administration offices. This position supervises the Program Coordinator, who provides assistance especially in the areas of event planning and communications management.

Essential Functions
  1. Program Administration (LLM, Summer Session, JD Curriculum): Serves as the primary point of contact for PIJIP’s LLM in Intellectual Property and Intellectual Property Summer Session. Manages recruitment and marketing. Provides personalized recruiting and outreach in response to leads and applications. Serves as liaison between students and faculty and other offices. Organizes a weekly seminar and workshop for LLM students. Corresponds with outside students and visiting and adjunct summer faculty. Manages IP curriculum and updates our two-year curriculum plan. Calls and chairs weekly meeting with Faculty Directors during term. Manages all marketing materials, including brochures, newsletters and emails, social media, advertising, and web pages in coordination with relevant offices. Provides budget support and financial oversight forthe program.
  2. Supervision: Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates 1 FT program coordinator. Works with the Coordinator to develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy for PIJIP academic programs and events, including summer and LLM programs.
  3. Student and Career Advising: Serves as a liaison to the Office of Career and Professional Development (OCPD). Supplements OCPD counseling with subject-matter-specific programming, including organizing student advising and career planning workshops and meetings with faculty and alumni, including separate workshops on career paths in Copyright, Patent, Trademark, and Communications law. Serves as liaison to IP and Technology student organizations and publications, including Intellectual Property Law Society, the Intellectual Property Brief, the Sports and Entertainment Law Society, Communications and Media Law Society, Fashion and Art Law Society, and the Science and Technology Brief. Aids student event and activity planning and interaction with PIJIP faculty, alumni, and sponsors.
  4. Other Duties As Assigned: The position works with the Director to and the Faculty Directors to develop and manage other activities of the Program. Such activities include supporting ongoing fundraising and sponsorship initiatives to further diversify revenue for the program.

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Master's degree or JD
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in higher education
  • Experience in the field of IP or technology law
  • Fundraising experience
  • Skill using academic course management systems
  • Skill using Ellucian/Colleague preferred

  • Skill using Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel to develop and maintain databases, develop presentations, and reports and conduct data analysis
  • Skill using social media tools and technology for program and/or organizational marketing and outreach
