Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The Office of the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences is the administrative unit that has oversight of 25 departments and programs, curriculum and degree requirements, academic and support of personnel and operating budgets. CAS oversees all curricular changes recommended for inclusion in the university’s catalogue, allocates all teaching positions and approves all part-time and full-time faculty hires, approves work plans, and reviews annual evaluations for all EHRA and SHRA personnel, oversees use and improvement of all college facilities, and allocates all state and trust funds received by the college to the departments and offices under its oversight.

Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The CAS University Program Associate is responsible for the following duties:
- Administer, oversee, and manage the technical processing functions of course schedule building, as well as implementing the decisions made for enrollment management
- Train and coordinate with schedule builders in all CAS departments, correct schedule errors, and serve as subject matter schedule expert for the college
- Serve as liaison between the college and the Registrar’s office
- Manage the enrollment process for University Studies Courses within the college for incoming students, including reserving seats and communicating with CAS departments, University College and Registrar’s office
- Provide ad hoc enrollment reports and work with registrar to develop new reports
- Maintain and update the Faculty Contract Status database and reports in the college
- Responsible for communicating information to department chairs
- Collaborate with external offices to ensure deadlines are met and data is accurate.
- Provide administrative support for the Associate Dean. Schedule meetings, take meeting notes when requested and provide support for various committees as needed.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Graduation from a four-year college or university; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred education, professional skills and experience
-3-5 years relevant experience, preferably in Higher Education
-Strong skills in Excel, verbal communication, and records management
-Training in Student Banner, advanced knowledge and experience with excel spreadsheets
-Familiarity with policies within higher education
