Additional Information
The Department of Psychological Science at Ball State University is comprised of twenty-three full-time faculty with teaching and research expertise spanning across social, cognitive, clinical, and developmental psychology, and neuroscience. Our department includes two Master’s programs in Clinical Psychology and Psychological Science, a large undergraduate major (approximately 700 students), a psychology minor, and interdisciplinary concentrations in criminal justice, data analytics, and neuroscience. The department’s mission aligns with the university’s focus on high impact experiences for our undergraduate and graduate students, and we provide strong generalist training in psychology as a science. The faculty are productive scholars, particularly in the areas of neuroscientific foundations of cognitive, developmental, and social processes, social attitudes and communication, prejudice and discrimination, externalizing psychopathology, and psychological assessment. Faculty collaborate with many other academic departments across the university and with community partners. In line with the university’s focus on community engagement, faculty are also active participants in university, community, and professional service. Position Function
Provide administrative and faculty leadership for the department and its reporting units, teach courses in general and expertise-specific areas of the discipline as negotiated with the Dean, conduct research and publish in areas of specialization; provide an example of engagement through academic, professional, and public service.
Minimum Education
Ph.D. in Psychology or closely related field from an accredited instituiton.
Minimum Experience
Five years of teaching experience in a psychology program or closely related field; demonstrated record of scholarship and publication in any area of psychology or closely related field; and have earned tenure.
Minimum Other
Authorization to work in the US

We are seeking applicants who demonstrate one or more of the following qualifications: administrative experience in an academic setting; leadership and interpersonal skills; commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment; record of scholarship and publication in any area of psychology or closely related field adequate for an appointment as a tenured associate or full professor; teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level in a psychology program or a closely related field; record of application for external funding in psychology or a closely related field; and record of service at university, community, or professional levels.
