Based in Richmond, Virginia, the Department of Health Administration has a strong, 70-year legacy and is a premiere Department geared toward creating the most innovative, compassionate, and business-savvy leaders to reimagine healthcare. With the rapid evolution of healthcare, the Department’s curriculum must anticipate the future and provide the proper experiences for the next generation of healthcare leaders. The Department of Health Administration in the College of Health Professions is seeking a colleague to work collaboratively between the Department of Health Administration and the new Bachelor of Science in Health Services program. This position is eligible to be a 9-month term faculty position. Opportunities may be available for summer funding. Position Responsibilities
Research
While this position’s primary purpose is instruction, there may also be opportunities to engage in collaborative research and scholarship.


Teaching
The faculty member will have teaching responsibilities in one or more areas of healthcare organizations and systems, operations management, data analytics, health economics, health policy, organizational theory, health equity, management of healthcare organizations, or corporate strategy. The faculty member will instruct courses in both the Masters in Health Administration Program and in the new BS in Health Services program.


Service
The faculty member will serve on the departmental, College, and/or University committees as necessary, as well as in a professional capacity in their field (e.g., reviewer, conference organizer, etc.). Required Qualifications
• A Master’s Degree in a job-related field, such as health services research, health services organizations and management, health analytics, organizational behavior, health economics, health policy, or political science.

• Experience or high potential for effectively and inclusively educating and mentoring students from under-represented minority and/or historically marginalized communities.

• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU . Preferred Qualifications
• PhD or terminal degree in a job-related field such as health services research, health services organizations and management, health analytics, organizational behavior, health economics, health policy, or political science.

• Teaching experience at undergraduate and graduate level, in-person and/or online instruction modalities.

• Potential for administrative or program leadership in HA.

• Ability to teach one or more of the following topics: health care organizations and systems, health care technology, management and leadership of health care organizations, health economics, health equity, or health policy.
