Position Summary

The Assistant Softball Coach assists the Head Softball Coach in all phases of a successful Division I Intercollegiate program.

Key accountability and responsibilities:
  • Teach skills related to the Softball Sport Program. Develop and implement thorough, sound and safe teaching plans for defense and hitting.
  • Recruit student-athletes that can contribute athletically to the program and also reflect the academic standards of UB. Recruit approved student-athletes within assigned area to include planning implementing, and on-the-road recruiting.
  • Maintain accurate recruiting lists and have thorough knowledge of all NCAA and University rules and regulations.
  • Make maximum use of all technologies to develop the student-athlete to fullest potential.
  • Responsible for compliance with the policies and rules of the University, the NCAA and the Mid-American Conference.
  • Responsible for procurement, purchasing, facilities management, and fundraising for the sport program.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable professional experience.
  • Knowledge of, or basic understanding of coaching at the collegiate level required, preferably Division I-A.
  • Must be proficient with computers, have strong communication skills and excellent teaching and coaching skills.
