Career Engagement/Recruitment Manager, College of Business

The College of Business invites applications for a Career Engagement/Recruitment Manager to join their team. The Career Engagement and Recruitment Manager has four major job functions: set up and execute all COB employer fairs and networking events; coordinate campus interviews; engage students in the career development process; and facilitate communication and coordinating activities between the COB and UM office of Experiential Learning and Career Success.

  • Along with Director of Career Readiness and Employer Relations, manage and expand pipeline of recruiters and businesses to initiate and maintain recruiting relationships with COB
  • Work with COB faculty and student groups to develop and execute all employer fairs and networking events
  • Work with UM Office of Experiential Learning and Career Success to manage Handshake for COB (promote events, manage employer accounts and encourage student use)
  • Coordinate COB campus interviews
  • Develop and market all COB career workshops and presentations, including content creation, identifying desired outcomes, facilitation and follow up
  • Meet regularly and coordinate with Director of Career Readiness and Employer Relations


Required Skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Two years event planning experience.
  • One-year related work experience in student employment services
  • Ability to lift more than 25 pounds
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to develop an advanced working knowledge of Cascade web content management system and other systems used in the recruitment process
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team


Minimum Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two (2) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Position Details

Position Title: Career Engagement/Recruitment Manager (Program Manager)

Position Number: NEW

Department: College of Business

Work Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Academic Year (10 months/year, August through May).

Salary: $18.35/hr

Union Affiliation: FOCUS-MFPE

Probationary Period: Six months minimum
