Responsibilities: The Department of Behavioral Sciences and Human Services seeks to fill a tenure track position in the Sociology Program to begin August 2021.  

Responsibilities include teaching twelve (12) undergraduate hours (4 courses) per semester; engages in multiple service related activities such as student advising mentoring and service at the departmental, school, college, professional, and community levels; and actively engages in scholarly or creative activities. 

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Sociology or a closely related field required. Applicants should be strongly committed to excellence in teaching, student advising, and student mentoring.  Preference will be given to candidates with evidence of teaching effectiveness at the undergraduate level, evidence of academic scholarship and research, ability/potential to publish in peer-reviewed academic journals, the potential for securing external grants, and evidence of building community partnerships. An interest in Comparative Sociology, especially as it relates to the Family, Race, Ethnicity, Gender, and Politics would be an asset. Experience in teaching statistics and/or data analysis will also be considered.
