The University of Northern Colorado ("the University" or "UNC") seeks an experienced and innovative leader to serve as its Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management (AVPEM). The next AVPEM will join UNC at a pivotal moment in its history as President Andy Feinstein, Ph.D., and the faculty and staff have purposely examined all aspects of the university's operations through a comprehensive and participatory visioning and planning process. UNC has developed and approved Phase 1 of the strategic plan Rowing, Not Drifting 2030 – an ambitious agenda for the future. President Feinstein is beginning his fourth year at UNC.

The Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management plays a vital role in the success of the university. As such, the AVPEM will have frequent and direct communication with the President and regular involvement with the President’s Cabinet.  The AVPEM reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration (SVPFA) and is a member of the President’s Leadership Council.

The AVPEM will be an experienced enrollment professional with an established record of achieving enrollment goals, including meeting enrollment targets and attracting a diverse class of students who will be successful at UNC. The AVPEM must bring a spirit of collaboration, transparency, creativity, nimbleness, and fiscal responsibility. Exceptional analytical and technological skills will be critical, as well as the ability to understand and respect shared governance. The AVPEM has primary responsibility for (1) developing and implementing a comprehensive enrollment management plan that supports the overall institutional strategic goals and (2) providing enrollment programs and services that support student success.

The AVPEM oversees all activities associated with the offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, and Bursar.  The AVPEM will provide strategic, analytically-informed, and creative leadership to a dedicated team while seeking to greatly extend UNC's reach to both undergraduate and graduate students regionally and across the nation. In doing so, the AVPEM will engage, represent, and champion the university’s enduring mission and core values and advance the strategic vision, key actions, and tactics articulated in Rowing, Not Drifting 2030.  The AVPEM should understand the culture of student life on a campus that includes both residential and commuting students, traditional-age students, and adult learners, all with a wide array of academic and personal interests and ambitions that inform the work of the division and the university. Of significance, the AVPEM will serve as a strong and proactive institutional partner, particularly with academics, in order to realize UNC's enrollment goals.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are critical to the UNC community, and the university seeks to recruit, develop, and retain the most talented people from a diverse candidate pool. The AVPEM will be an advocate for diversity with a proven record of and commitment to increasing educational access for traditionally marginalized populations. A diverse and inclusive state university located in Greeley, Colorado, UNC is preparing for its designation as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) and is committed to instilling passion in its students that will lead them to greater community engagement, fulfilling careers, and meaningful lives. This commitment has been a driving force as the university has expanded academic offerings and advanced new experiential learning opportunities. The AVPEM will play a critical role in helping UNC achieve and maintain this designation. Additional information, including a leadership profile can be found at www.wittkieffer.com.
