Job Summary:
Furman Athletics, a Division I institution and member of the Southern Conference, is looking to hire an Associate Athletics Director for Compliance with duties to include the following:

Job Description:

Responsibilities:
  • Provides leadership to the department relative to education, monitoring, enforcement, and maintenance of an NCAA compliant department.
  • Ensures that the department is in compliance with all rules and regulations of the institution, Southern Conference, and the NCAA.
  • Administers the department's compliance program and recommends appropriate actions to ensure compliance throughout the department.
  • Investigates and reports any rules infractions.
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of NCAA rules compliance (i.e. recruiting, financial aid, eligibility, extra benefits, camps and clinics, etc) and legislative academic initiatives.
  • Administers compliance education program with the group and individual sport meetings and newsletters.
  • Oversees the NIL platform service and monitors all NIL activity.
  • Responsible for roster management.
  • Monitors the status of incoming and outgoing transfer student-athletes.
  • Assists with the data collection for APR, GSR, and federal graduation reports.
  • Certification of continuing eligibility for student-athletes of 18 varsity sports.
  • Prepares waivers, releases, transfer evaluations, and reports for the conference or national office.
  • Monitors and implements the National Letter of Intent paperwork in collaboration with the FAR, SWA, financial aid and admissions department.
  • Works closely with offices of Enrollment and Financial Services, Academic Support Services, Registrar, and FAR as part of the team that certifies academic and athletic eligibility.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Senior Woman Administrator or Athletics Director.
  • Potential for sport supervision.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree required Master's or Law Degree preferred
  • Prior experience with compliance and eligibility process at the Division I level.
  • Thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with NCAA Compliance Assistant Programs.
  • Required to travel and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with coaches, students, faculty, administration and community.


Education Requirements:
Bachelors (Required), Juris Doctor, Masters
