Title: Administrative Assistant

Position Summary: This position provides support to the economic and community development division under the direction and supervision of the Vice President for Economic and Community Development.

Duties and Responsibilities: Provides internal and external customer service for the Economic & Community Development division including but not limited to; the OSHA Training Institute Education Center, Vol State IT Academy, and all other economic and community development division related activities and services. Enters student registration data, collects and receipts registration fees, and prepares daily deposits. Prepares of course/workshop materials, evaluations, and reports. Receives, sorts, and distributes division mail. Monitors the schedule of classes for start and end dates and prepares appropriate course and workshop information packets for faculty and students. Collects and records student grades and prepares certificates of completion as appropriate. Maintains confidentiality of student and faculty information. Operates general office equipment and computer software programs. Prepares presentations and assists with development of promotional communications. Assists with promoting divisional services (may include working events, trade shows, etc.) Provides services to customers, such as order placement or account information. Provides a high level of customer service support to include: greeting visitors, handling their inquiries, directing them to the appropriate persons according to their needs, answering telephones, providing information to callers, taking messages, and transferring calls to the appropriate individuals. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum of one year of experience in an office environment.

Preferred Qualifications: College degree or some college coursework.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Work Characteristics: Strong oral and written communication skills. Commitment to customer service. Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel. Data entry experience. Skill in operating general office equipment. Evidence of strong interpersonal skills, maturity.

Pay Rate: 25,750.00 - 29,390.00 annual salary depending on experience
