Pace University, located in New York City, is seeking a Director of Admissions and Recruitment to be responsible for working collaboratively with colleagues in Enrollment Management to develop and implement a comprehensive undergraduate strategic enrollment plan for the university. The Director manages the daily operations of the New York City campus undergraduate admission office; hires and trains staff members on a daily basis as well as collaborates with staff from other areas of the University; develops and reviews undergraduate enrollment programs as well as marketing materials on a regular basis; manages application processing, review, and conversion; and manages the department’s budget and utilizes information technology to support the office.

Specific Duties:

  • Provide leadership in designing the University’s enrollment strategies and makes sophisticated use of high quality, data-driven, evidence-based enrollment decisions, utilizing best practices in admissions and enrollment management, while inspiring others on campus, (faculty, administrators, students, and alumni) to work collaboratively in achieving enrollment goals.
  • Participate in strategy sessions and planning as a senior member of the Enrollment Management Senior Leadership Team and represent the department at campus meetings.
  • Proactively develop and assess recruitment programs by evaluating maximum effectiveness and efficiencies.
  • Proactively provide effective data analysis of reports to drive short-term and long-term activities in the office.
  • Utilize information technology to support admission efforts.
  • Oversee and manage university-wide application processing and review
  • Oversee and manage the university-wide conversion and anti-melt activities throughout the admission cycle.
  • Oversee and manage the university-wide Webinar Series team efforts regarding recruitment, conversion, and anti-melt events and initiatives.
  • Create and guide relationships with high schools, community colleges, and other organizations for recruitment with a focus on Independent Counselor/High School Networks.
  • Assist the University Director of the Visitor Experience in the planning and execution of events throughout the year on-site, off-site and virtual.
  • Manage the Ongoing Academic Social Instructional Support (OASIS) program’s recruitment, conversion, and enrollment process as well as the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History (GLI) scholarship process and the Verto partnership’s recruitment, application, and enrollment process.
  • Oversee the recruitment and application process for Pace’s First Year Experience – London program in conjunction with the Study Abroad Office.
  • Manage daily operations and staff.
  • Provide training, motivation, and a positive work environment for a results-driven team.
  • Establish and monitor the department’s budget.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required; a graduate degree is preferred.
  • At least 6 years minimum of progressively responsible experience in successful planning, creative problem solving, and effective administration of a diverse admission office.
  • The ability to lead, supervise, motivate, and initiate change is required.
  • Sophisticated understanding of enrollment strategies, market research, social media, admissions, financial aid, and student information systems.
  • Consistent record of new student enrollment improvements.
  • Demonstration of the thoughtful and consistent analysis of programming and activities as part of long-range planning is necessary.
  • Personal commitment to diversity with a vision of what that means to an institution of higher education is essential.
  • Working knowledge of enrollment CRM (SLATE), student information systems, and other technology solutions in student marketing and recruitment.
