ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF GRAPHIC DESIGN

The Art Department in the Fulton School of Liberal Arts at Salisbury University is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Graphic Design. This is a ten-month full-time tenure-track position, beginning August 2022.

Area of Specialization: Graphic Design

Primary Job Duties: Teach three studio classes (12 credits) per semester in all levels of Graphic Design including Design Principles, Introduction to Design and Typography. Teach Illustration and Web Design as needed. Serve as an academic advisor for students. Service to the department, school and university. Continued professional activity and scholarly development in graphic design at a level appropriate to teaching and service work load. The ability to work in a collegial manner with other graphic design faculty and also art department faculty, staff, student workers and faculty and staff outside of the Art Department.

Minimum Qualifications: Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Graphic Design or related field. Teaching experience at the college or university level.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching online/distance courses with current best practices. Professional Graphic Design experience. Knowledge of design history and contemporary issues in design. Proficiency in technologies relevant to graphic design and digital media.
