    Reporting to the Director of Graduate Admission, the Senior Assistant Director is responsible for a full range of duties to support the recruitment, selection, and enrollment of new graduate students in the College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) and the Sawyer Business School (SBS).

    Responsibility
    In close collaboration with Graduate Admission colleagues, strategically apply and expand upon the Graduate Strategic Recruitment Plan for each graduate program (degree and non-degree) to create robust, comprehensive recruitment strategies and outreach efforts aimed at meeting prescribed enrollment goals.

    30%

    Develop comprehensive domestic recruitment travel and off-campus events plan. Coordinates travel planning and execution for the Office of Graduate Admission and conduct extensive recruitment travel in the New England region.

    Working closely with the Office of Alumni Relations and the graduate program offices, develops, plans, and manages the Graduate Ambassador Program as a tool to recruit and yield new graduate students.

    Manages the admission process for a caseload of students by answering prospects’ and applicants’ questions, following up with applicants to ensure all required application materials are received, interviewing applicants, reviewing files, and contributing to admission decisions.

    Assist the Director of Graduate Admission and Associate Director in the onboarding, training, and mentorship of entry-level staff members including Graduate Admission Counselors and Admission Assistants related to graduate program details and unique selling propositions. Manage and update the staff onboarding manual as needed.

    Requirements/Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
    • 3-5 years of relevant experience in admission and recruitment, preferably at the graduate level.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse work environment
    • Strong time management and ability to meet strict, frequent deadlines
    • Ability to engage and network with prospective applicants including the ability to represent the University professionally, express the value of attending Suffolk, and ‘sell’ a vision
    • Strong creativity and innovation; willingness to try new approaches to achieve desired objectives
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to write a wide variety of concise, engaging, and professional material directed to a wide variety of internal and external audiences
    • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, including having a valid passport
    • Ability working nights and weekends as required for recruiting events
    • Strong computer proficiency required; experience with an admission CRM system preferred.
    • Able to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively.
