Saint Francis University invites applications for a 9 month non-tenured Assistant Professor position in the Education department to start August 2021.  The faculty responsibilities include face to face and online teaching, advising students, participating in departmental and University service activities, involvement with recruitment and retention activities, and ongoing professional development.  Expertise in curriculum innovation as well as commitment to teaching and scholarly excellence expected. Expertise in assistive and instructional technology is desirable. The successful candidate will teach courses including, but not limited to: Introduction to Special Education, Assessment, Positive Behavior Interventions, Autism Spectrum Disorders, High Incidence Disabilities, Assistive and Instructional Technology, and Teaching Methods of Special Education. The candidate will be expected to evaluate, revise and recommend updates for all special education programs/classes at the Undergraduate and Graduate level in alignment with PDE standards.  The candidate will develop and enrich community relationships through outreach initiatives.

Master’s degree required with Supervisor of Special Education certification preferred, but candidates with advanced Special Education qualifications will be considered.  Doctoral degree preferred.  Three to five years of K-12 teaching and/or administration is preferred.  Candidates should have expertise related to Special Education law (specifically IDEA), IEP requirements at the state and federal level, and experience with 504 plans, co-teaching/co-development of curriculum with public school partners.  The candidate should be familiar with early intervention and ISFPS. Experience working with PDE Special Education program guidelines and competencies necessary.
