Geology & Environmental Earth Science: Postdoctoral Fellow to conduct paleontological research in the areas of fossil marine food webs in the Department of Geology and Environmental Earth Science for the Tyler research group.  The position is supported by an externally funded project to explore the effects of the Mesozoic Marine Revolution on ecosystem structure and functioning.  A wide range of programming languages will be used including R, Julia and LaTex.  Top candidates will be independent thinkers capable of taking projects from idea to reality, while working as a team player and serving as a mentor to graduate and undergraduate students.  This position is funded from the National Science Foundation and is a 4-month term. 

Works independently or as part of a team to design, implement, and disseminate research aligned with the program's research agenda.  Familiar with approaches and methods for the construction and analysis of marine food webs and paleoecology.  Participates in the development and submission of proposals of grants.  Expected to serve as first author on multiple reports and publications.

Required: PhD (by date of appointment) in biology, ecology, paleontology, geology, Earth science, or related areas; competence with the R programing language and LaTex is required. Applicant must have strong organizational capability, experience with data analysis and presentation, and strong communication skills. The position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.

Consideration may be given to a candidate with a background in ecological analyses, programming, computational modeling, paleoecology and food webs is preferred. Successful candidates will have evidence of strong oral and written communications skills, organizational capacity, interinstitutional collaboration, and analytical skills.
