Position: Benefits and Compensation Analyst  

 

Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, the Benefits and Compensation Analyst is responsible for overseeing all the functions assigned to employee benefits, compensation payroll administration, including employee counseling, orientation and education. The Benefits and Compensation Analyst oversees the organizational and administrative functions of the benefits administration and compensation.  This benefits and compensation professional will analyze, design and administer employee benefits including, but not limited to: 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administers the Welfare Benefit Plans (e.g., medical, dental, vision, flex spending accounts, health saving account, etc.) 
  • Manage the annual benefits open enrollment process, including planning meetings, system modifications, testing and educating employees regarding benefits option. 
  • Ensure benefits vendor file feed integrations run smoothly and accurately. Resolves issues with the system and integrations.
  • Plans and administers the annual College benefits fair.
  • Manage the benefit billing process with all third party vendors and internal offices.
  • Perform regular audits of benefits to ensure program is being administered according to plan guidelines.
  • Ensure benefits vendor file feed integrations run smoothly and accurately. Resolve issues with the system and integrations.
  • Develop and administer Health and Wellness programs for employees 
  • Actively participate in the regular compensation activities including salary survey participation and ad-hoc compensation benchmark assessments.
  • Benchmark jobs against survey data to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.
  • Evaluate and determine appropriate grade, salary range and FLSA status for new and existing positions.
  • Provide day-to-day support to Director of Human Resources on various compensation needs.
  • Other duties as assigned. 
  • Weekend and evening work required as needed.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of, and the ability to remain up to date on, state and federal regulations.
  • Working knowledge of qualified plans.
  • Superior communication (both written and oral) skills. 
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills; some knowledge of statistical analysis.
  • Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully interact with all levels of staff with varying degrees of benefit knowledge.
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision, as well as in a team environment.
  • Proficient is MS Office applications.

 

Education & Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or a related field, required.
  • Will consider four (4) years of direct work experience in lieu of a degree (in addition to the 5 years of experience noted below).
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of recent, related experience, required.
  • Certification in field, Certified Employee Benefit Specialist, CEBS, Certified Benefits Professional, CBP, preferred.

 

Starting Salary:           Commensurate with education and experience
