Job Description:

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking an entry level Desktop Support Specialist to join Academic Technology - Technology Support Services, a unit within UFIT, to provide accurate, timely, and sustainable solutions to end user computing and networking problems of basic to moderate nature to ensure end user productivity.

Employment with UFIT provides an excellent opportunity to work with other employees dedicated and focused on understanding and interpreting the technological needs of the University of Florida’s innovative and inspirational community.

The primary responsibilities are:

  • Assisting end users with getting set up on supported equipment and software.
  • Familiarizing end-users with how to use the equipment and software.
  • Assisting end users with resolving software issues pertaining to supported software.
  • Installing and physically moving computers, printers, and other end user technology devices, including installing designated system imaging and application software.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving entry-level problems as well as providing entry-level maintenance for computers, printers, and other end user technology devices.

Expected Salary: $19.16 per hour. In addition, the University of Florida offers a very competitive benefits package. Minimum Requirements:

Associate degree; or High School diploma and two years of relevant experience.

Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience but does not negate the minimum degree requirement(s).

Valid Florida Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following experience, and skills.

  • Familiarity with end user technical support procedures and problem solutions.
  • Knowledge of operating systems such as:
    • Apple Mac OS
    • Android/iPhone
    • Windows 10
    • Microsoft Office Suite
    • Adobe Creative Cloud suite
    • AD and GPOs understanding
    • Microsoft Exchange Cloud
    • PowerShell
