Job Summary:
Develops, executes, manages and measures successful marketing strategies, promotions, public relations, and communications for the college by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate employees.
This position will help define an optimal brand position and strategy to advance the academic reputation, expand economic development relevancy and engage with key college stakeholders.

Job Duties:


This list includes, but is not limited to the following:

• Plans and implements the college’s integrated marketing goals, strategies and procedures to increase enrollment growth and community outreach through complex and multi-channel marketing campaigns.
• Implements the college’s branding strategies including visual identity elements, written style and supporting elements.
• Assures college marketing, communication, and public relations materials, displays and events present a consistent image of excellence, quality and brand.
• Manages the creation and effective placement of the college’s advertising to include print, broadcast, direct mail and other effective strategies.
• Provides marketing and communications support for college leadership and representatives to ensure appropriate programs and services are marketed strategically for enrollment growth.
• Provides day-to-day supervision of professional (exempt) and classified (nonexempt) employees as assigned.
• Coordinates the design, content, production and distribution of college’s promotional printed publications.
• Works closely with other college departments on the content and design of their marketing, public relations and communication pieces for consistent marketing messaging and audience segmentation.
• Develops, manages and implements broad interactive digital and in-person engagement strategies that support college goals, including social media, the college’s web presence, community partnerships and special events that leverage community relations and marketing efforts.
• Leads the effective written (including editing) content of communications and marketing work products.
• Works with web staff to facilitate the on-going enhancements of the college website to best leverage one of the college’s key marketing resources.
• Develops and coordinates ideas and opportunities for feature articles, interviews, presentations and other public relations activities that promote awareness of the institution and its people, programs, events or services.
• Provides graphic design and digital design support in tandem with graphic and web design staff.
• Delivers and assists staff with public speaking engagements, presentations and preparation of articles for publication.
• Arranges and coordinates some college events and activities.
• Helps develop and conduct focus groups and surveys to test various public relations strategies. Utilizes results to operate more effectively.
• Works some evenings and weekends for special events, meetings and peak project deadlines.
• Maintains a positive, helpful, constructive attitude and work relationship with supervisor, departmental personnel, college staff, students, and the community.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience : Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university preferably in marketing, business, communications or similar field of study and a minimum of four years full-time related experience in a complex organization, including leadership and supervisory experience with a minimum of two years in professional level digital content and marketing work.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Expert knowledge of fundamental marketing, branding and advertising practices
• Advanced knowledge of organizational communication strategies and implementation
• Advanced knowledge of marketing management, event planning, promotion, communications or similar related fields
• Ability to create compelling messaging
• Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
• Skilled in graphic design, CMS, publishing applications and other digital tools and willingness to stay abreast of technological trends, applications and to learn and use accordingly
• Excellent judgment, problem-solving, ingenuity, streamlined and professional communication and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
• Ability to effectively lead and supervise the work of a team of employees through the use of diverse project management skills
