Loyola University Chicago ( LUC ), College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry invites applications for a non-tenure track, chemistry lecturer (laboratory instructor), beginning fall 2021. Initial appointments are renewable, contingent on performance and review. The Department offers PhD, MS, and ACS -approved BS and BA degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry. The position involves overseeing laboratory sections of general chemistry in both semesters of the academic year. Candidates also will be required to supervise graduate student teaching assistants. The position will also involve developing changes in the laboratory curriculum. The ability to teach other courses in our curriculum may be considered a plus. Qualifications
The candidate will have a Doctoral Degree in chemical sciences or related areas. Candidates for the position must clearly demonstrate the potential for excellence in teaching and have a record of (or clear potential for) student mentorship.The candidate should be willing to support the mission of LUC and the goals of a Jesuit Catholic Education.
