This is a full-time, twelve month contract beginning the fall semester in August 2021.

TheRadiography Departmentin the Henrietta Schmoll School of Health offers an associate degree program that emphasizes consideration for the physical and psychological needs of patients and families as well as medical imaging technology. Students gain insights into anatomy, physiology and human disease, and radiographic sciences through a challenging blend of liberal arts studies, professional courses, and clinical experiences. Our goal is to support students in mastering the skills needed to create accurate medical images, to provide high quality patient care and prepare them for the national certification exam offered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) following graduation. Responsibilities for this role include:
  • Successfully and efficiently develop and implement clinical education rotations, including specialty rotations, inJRCERTrecognized clinical education settings.
  • Communicate and partner with a wide variety of imaging professionals, physicians, professors, administrators, patients and many Preceptors, in multiple clinical education locations.
  • Arrange and conduct site visits to clinical education settings, documenting results, and maintaining site visit records.
  • Join the program director and faculty in delivering dynamic, constantly evolving curriculum, driven by the rapid pace of technological change in imaging methods, equipment and instrumentation, the expanding scientific knowledge base, and advances in instructional technology.
  • Ensure that students are well prepared for certification examination conducted by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) to include the major topics areas of:
    • Radiation Protection
    • Equipment Operation and Quality Control
    • Image Production and Evaluation
    • Radiographic Anatomy and Procedures
    • Patient Care and Education
  • Drives regular updates to rigorous course content with the objective of improving student outcomes and adhering to accreditation goals.
  • Teach didactic and clinical education in any of the topic areas above, engaging and mentoring students toward successful outcomes.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of didactic and clinical instruction via student outcomes across the curriculum and recommend changes.
  • Collaborating with other faculty and department leadership to administer the Radiography Program rules, regulations, and policies in compliance with current Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Standards.
  • Ensure that clinical education is conducted in compliance with all rules and regulations via Liability Insurance Policy management, documentation of site data, record of Student ID’s/Photo’s/contact information, immunization records and background checks, and via completion of student evaluations and competency testing and monitoring of theirARRTregistry eligibility status.
  • Maintain current knowledge of new radiographic procedures, equipment and instrumentation, imaging methods and educational methodology through continuing professional development.
  • Serves on the Radiography Program Advisory Committee and other University Committees, as recommended.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Five years of radiologic technology experience
  • CurrentARRTRadiography certification
  • Some higher education teaching experience
  • Experience supervising students as faculty or preceptor
  • Possess a broad knowledge base and experience in the application of radiologic technology to include a wide range of procedures encompassing general, fluoroscopic, surgical, and trauma imaging
  • Experience collaborating with colleagues to create positive and effective team dynamics
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree
  • Experience managing the complexities of clinical partnerships
  • Experience in curriculum development, supervision, instruction, evaluation and academic advising
  • Evidence of scholarship
