Assistant Director of Admissions

About Northeastern:
Founded in 1898, Northeastern is a global research university and the recognized leader in experience-driven lifelong learning. Our world-renowned experiential approach empowers our students, faculty, alumni, and partners to create impact far beyond the confines of discipline, degree, and campus.

Our locations—in Boston; Charlotte, North Carolina; London; Portland, Maine; San Francisco; Seattle; Silicon Valley; Toronto; Vancouver; and the Massachusetts communities of Burlington and Nahant—are nodes in our growing global university system. Through this network, we expand opportunities for flexible, student-centered learning and collaborative, solutions-focused research.

Northeastern's comprehensive array of undergraduate and graduate programs— in a variety of on-campus and online formats—lead to degrees through the doctorate in nine colleges and schools. Among these, we offer more than 195 multi-discipline majors and degrees designed to prepare students for purposeful lives and careers.

About the Opportunity:
Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Admissions, the Assistant Director of Admissions will design and implement an effective recruitment strategy for students within their assigned region of the United States and will evaluate applicants for admission into the University. The Assistant Director's recruitment strategy will include significant travel in assigned territories designed to attract and subsequently enroll first year and transfer students in line with university priorities. Additionally, the Assistant Director will also assist the Associate Director of Admission in the recruitment of special populations in the undergraduate admissions process.

Responsibilities:
Further responsibilities include group and individual counseling and advising students and families regarding the admission process, conducting interviews and presentations, developing and maintaining relationships with secondary school and transfer counselors, alumni volunteers, other university offices and managing their territory throughout the entire admission cycle. The Assistant Director will also be responsible for coordinating and managing specific constituent relationships or projects in addition to other duties as assigned. A successful candidate will be a team player with a strong work ethic and demonstrated ability to successfully work independently, and who actively contributes to the office welfare in a high volume, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required. Master degree preferred.

- 3-5 years of experience in student recruitment, and secondary/college admissions required.

- Admissions counseling experience, including recruitment programming, travel scheduling, student counseling, and small and large group presentations also required.

- Proven ability to work independently, excellent communication and presentation skills, sensitive and responsive to the needs of diverse constituencies.

- Fluency in speaking Spanish is highly desired.

Salary Grade:
10
