About the Opportunity:
The Department of Art + Design in the College of Arts, Media, and Design invites applications for a one-year appointment as a Post Graduate Teaching Fellowship.

Responsibilities:
This is a one-year appointment with the possibility for renewal after one year. The preferred candidate for this position is a practicing studio artist with knowledge of the visual principles of art and design, with a focus on 2-dimensional works. Experience with hybrid approaches to studio course instruction is preferred. Candidates should show commitment to entry level and mid-level fundamentals coursework.

This is a one-year appointment with the possibility for renewal up to three years. The preferred candidate for this position is a practicing studio artist with knowledge of the visual principles of art and design with a focus on 2-dimensional works. Experience with hybrid approaches to studio course instruction is preferred. Candidates should show passion for entry level and mid-level fundamentals coursework.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Color and Composition, Observational Drawing, and/or Conceptual Drawing. The course load will be 3 courses per semester with the opportunity to teach in the summer for extra compensation. Candidates should be open to the possibility of working with the department heads on delivering coursework in a hybrid format.

Successful candidates will be paired with a designated faculty mentor who will assist with onboarding, aid in course development, and provide feedback at the end of each semester. Additionally, successful candidates will be eligible to receive funding for faculty development.

Qualifications:
Candidates must have earned a terminal degree in the areas of art or design (MFA) prior to start date. The start date for this position is August 23, 2021.
