About the Opportunity:

Northeastern University is seeking a highly driven, self-motivated and enthusiastic person to help build and shape the Business Analyst role in the EDGE division. This role is central to business success and will partner closely with initiative leads to analyze the marketspace and ideate on and refine new learning product solutions that differentiate from competitors and leverage Northeastern's strengths. The ideal candidate must be excited to discover and analyze business requirements and operationalize workflows across a multidisciplinary team to facilitate efficient high-quality development efforts. This generalist position requires a high level of cross-functional collaboration, teamwork, and excellent communication. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract low-level information into a more general understanding, and distinguish between ideas and requirements.

Responsibilities:

It is the Business Analyst's priority to de-risk projects and ensure projects are effectively managed, providing regular status updates and reports to both internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

● Bachelor's degree required, ideally in project management, business, analytics or related discipline. Master's degree and/or PMP strongly preferred.

● Strong business acumen and financial management skills. Experience developing and reporting measures of business success.

● Strong analytical skills to discern key information, grasp potential ramifications, eliminate obstacles, anticipate and solve problems. Possesses an efficiency and scale-oriented mindset.

● Demonstrated leadership, networking and negotiation skills. Excellent facilitation and interpersonal skills, ability to interact with clients in a sensitive and diplomatic manner, maintaining positive relationships and building consensus

● Strong project management, workflow, and process analysis skills. Experience managing complex projects, defining acceptance criteria, estimating effort, managing competing priorities across a wide array of deliverables with concurrent timelines.

● Strong research skills to gather data, draw conclusions and make recommendations.

● Ability to influence without authority. Ability to “manage up” with senior leadership.

● Ability to switch between defining high-level strategy and working on detailed logistics

● Exceptional organizational skills, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

● Knowledge of product management concepts and how products are positioned and developed.

● Proficient in advanced techniques with various PM/PPM software in addition to experience working within shared digital work environments. Versed with agile methodologies.
