Responsibilities:
The Institute for Experiential Robotics Program Manager will work closely with the Institute Faculty Director, Director of Administration and Finance, Institute core members, Portfolio Manager, and the Provost Office (Associate Director of Finance and Administration) to provide post award, financial, and purchasing support for all institute funding. Responsibilities include researching, interpreting, and applying the policies and procedures that govern grant, contract, discretionary, gift, and other funding types. Additionally, the program manager will provide monthly account balances, review expenditures and payroll transactions for compliance, and meet with PIs regularly to monitor and review portfolios.

S/he must be able to communicate professionally and effectively on behalf of the Institute Director. The position requires problem solving skills; and the ability to make independent judgements regarding financial and budgetary activities. S/he will be the budget expert for the Institute and the research portfolios of the institutes core members. S/he will have strong excel skills, knowledge of advanced functions to manipulate and combine data, and a strong understanding of all financial reporting systems. S/he will be high-level problem solver who uses advanced skills, such as expenditure forecasting, personnel resource allocation projections and process development.

Qualifications:
A strong customer service focus is required. Bachelor's Degree required with a business or finance major preferred. Candidate should have 1-3 years of professional work experience in higher education and/or business setting. Familiarity with overall federal grant administration is desired. Candidate must have accounting knowledge and be able to work with budgets; have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and complete tasks for a number of principal investigators and administrators. A strong attention to detail, customer service oriented, initiative, flexibility and the ability to work independently and as a member of a team are required. Due to the amount of personal and financial information involved, the post award administrator must have the aptitude for treating sensitive information related to salaries, department finances and science in a confidential and professional manner. Advanced experience with MS Office, Banner, IBM Cognos and the ability to learn new software programs and techniques quickly is essential.
