About the Position:
University Outreach serves prospective and incoming students, and any other interested parties in the information seeking and application process, as it relates to the California State University system and Cal State Fullerton specifically. Our office provides campus tours, informational workshops, new and transfer student orientations and general information. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Marketing and Communications Analyst (Administrative Analyst/Specialist-Exempt I). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Reporting to the Director of Outreach and Recruitment and Titan Orientation Programs in the Division of Student Affairs, the Marketing and Communications Analyst works with the College Access and Career Pathways cluster (Outreach and Recruitment, Orientation, Financial Aid, Admissions, and Educational Partnerships) to coordinate and implement communication plans for programs and services offered by these departments. The Marketing and Communications Analyst is responsible for the oversight, development, and maintenance of marketing, branding, and communication initiatives. The Marketing and Communications Analyst manages day-to-day Salesforce related tasks, as well as long-term planning and strategy in communication creation and process improvement. This position develops and configures the Salesforce modules, workflow, forms, fields, views, reports, and dashboards and the daily maintenance of Salesforce via third-party applications/add-ons within Salesforce. The Marketing and Communications Analyst creates and applies departmental brand guidelines and develops printed and digital materials in support of College Access and Career Pathways cluster efforts. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving the study, analysis, evaluation, development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices or programs plus two years of related experience.

Working knowledge of and the ability to apply standard theories, principles, practices, and techniques applicable to the program or administrative specialty to develop conclusions and make recommendations. Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the applicable program or administrative specialty. Working knowledge of operational and fiscal analysis and techniques. Ability to take initiative and plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved. Skilled in research, development, and evaluation of policies and programs. Ability to collect, evaluate, and interpret data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. Expertise investigating and analyzing problems with broad administrative impact and implications. Ability to anticipate problems and address them proactively. Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret, organize, and present information and ideas in written or presentation form. Ability to train others on new skills and procedures and provide lead work direction.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.


Preferred Qualifications:
Three years of experience supporting information systems and technology. Experience in relational database/data management (experience in Salesforce is a plus). Experience creating system documentation and conducting user interviews and training. Experience with troubleshooting system, process and data issues. Knowledge of current trends in higher education recruiting. Experience working with institutions of higher education. Knowledge of campus systems and database.

Occasional early morning, evening, and weekend hours. High level group and interpersonal interactions with a variety of constituents, mainly students. Comfort and skill in presenting information to large audiences (400+) of students and family members.
