The School of Nursing at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) seeks applications for a full-time, tenure-track, Assistant Professor. An Advanced Practice Nurse/Adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner preferred. A research focus on biobehavioral health is a priority in order to provide professional leadership in academic programs focused on acute care. Desired areas of scholarship include cardiovascular disease, oncology or neurological disease/injury.
Candidates must be nurse scientists who demonstrate exceptional promise as a principal investigator with a focused research program relevant to non-communicable disease, acute or chronic health conditions; examples include acute phases of cardiovascular disease, cancer, respiratory disease or diabetes. Candidates must meet the academic and scholarly credentials to qualify for a tenure-track appointment at UCLA at the Assistant rank, including a PhD in nursing science, a defined program of research, and evidence of teaching experience and service to the profession.
Rank and salary will be commensurate with background and experience.
Requirements:
- Current licensure (or eligible for licensure) in California as
a registered nurse
- Current licensure (or eligible for licensure) in California as
an Advanced Practice Registered
Nurse
(either nurse practitioner or clinical nurse specialist) - Eligible for National certification in one of the following
areas: (1) Adult Gerontology Acute Nurse
Practitioner or CNS; (2) Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or CNS (3) advanced practice credentials (NP or
CNS) in another specialty area. - Evidence of an established independent research program or
ability to develop an independent research
program congruent with the mission of the School - Excellent oral and written communications
- Evidence of teaching experience and service to the
profession
