Key Position Information:
Requirements: Prior completion of a formal bus training program is
a must. Applicants must have current commercial driver’s license
with passenger and air brake endorsement to be considered. Clean
background check as well as drug screening will be required.
Selected candidates must pass a third party driving test prior to
employment. Once hired, bus operator is responsible for keeping
their license up to date throughout employment period. Random drug
test will be performed periodically as per FDOT regulations.
Ability to drive overnight trips and weekends is a must.
Incumbents operate a school bus and/or a multi-passenger motor
coach, and college vans. Responsibilities may include performing
pre-trip inspections of vehicles; dispensing fuels; performing
minor vehicle repairs; scheduling travel routes; maintaining
vehicle schedule and other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
One year of experience driving a school bus or multi-passenger

Positions in this class typically require: climbing, balancing,
stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking,

Medium Work: Exerting up to 70 pounds of force occasionally, and/or
up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of
force constantly to move objects.
