The Assistant Director for Workforce Development provides outreach, coordination, and support in the workforce development area and to the Director for Workforce Development; and enables the development of new initiatives and strengthening of existing programs in and outside of HCC.  

The Assistant Director supports new program development with duties including class development, hiring instructors, evaluating programs in the manufacturing technology and other workforce technical programs; provides educational dual enrollment apprenticeships for HCPS juniors and seniors; maintains the new Food Science laboratory program to include marketing, class development, and scheduling; maintains the MD Eligible Training Provider List (WIOA); interface with local and national businesses and government; and provides support for small business development and special events. Other duties include researching certification testing; assisting with the planning and implementation of marketing and special events; and serving on committees. 

This is an exempt, professional staff position.  

An associate degree or equivalent education, experience, or technical training and a minimum of three years of experience in the area of workforce development are required.  The ability to write grants is required.
